The conductivity of water quality refers to the ability of current passing through unit length and unit cross-sectional area caused by ionized substances in water such as salt, acid, alkali, etc. As an important indicator of water quality, conductivity refers to the amount of dissolved substances in water. This DEC790 Digital Conductivity Sensor is different from the analog sensor, it is a digital Conductivity Sensor with built-in RS485. It uses graphite two-electrode measurement principle. So why use graphite material? Because graphite has good stability, its own conductivity is stable, it is not easily affected by the external environment, and it can work stably for a long time. The conductivity of graphite is also relatively strong in corrosion resistance, and it can work in environments such as acids and alkalis. Graphite itself also has high electrical conductivity, which can provide more accurate measurement results. Most importantly, as a commonly used conductivity sensor, graphite material is low in cost, which can reduce the cost. The graphite is encapsulated in the PPS shell to form our DEC790 Digital Conductivity Probe.
Generally, the conductivity value of water quality will be affected by temperature, pH value, pressure, etc. In particular, the influence of temperature on conductivity is relatively large. Therefore, this conductivity sensor has a built-in temperature resistance, which can realize automatic temperature measurement and compensation, making the reading more accurate. Because it is a digital probe, in addition to measuring conductivity, it can also calculate TDS and salinity values. These data can be output through the Modbus communication protocol.
